Not your fathers garage
Throughout New England neighborhoods, building lots can be tight and the challenge then becomes how to meet those demands for space while being sensitive to a home’s overall size and neighborhood fit. One trend that has become popular is to capture the space above the garage. Whether the garage is connected to the home, or detached, additional space can be created to provide that much needed family room, office, studio or bedroom. The beauty of these spaces is that they tend to be more private and may have the potential for cathedral ceilings, unique finishes and good natural light. Basements can be damp and dark, attics tend to be hot and cramped – celebrate your garage – it will provide the flex space you need for the whole family. Interested?
